Entrenched, unhealthy habits around meetings, emails and business norms don’t help and our energy can easily become lacklustre. It can be easy to shuffle along with everyone else and get through the week, month, year.

My favourite Christmas present, (it’s the same every year) is a photo book that my wife compiles, of the Lusty family adventures for that year. Apparently, it’s the most stressful thing she does but it’s a brilliant reminder and celebration of what we’ve been up to as a family. A chance to reflect and put the year to bed, or the bookshelf in this case.

Busyness is a drug and is as addictive as crack. When we're busy, we get caught up on a wave of dopamine that makes us feel excited, needed and productive. The nature of busyness is that when we are running from one thing to the next, we are rarely aware and therefore spend most of our time and energy doing the wrong stuff. It’s a terrible waste of life and talent. To break this addiction, you must know what the right stuff is.

A new design for business

We believe that Humans are not designed for business.‍ We’re designed to be hunter-gatherers roaming the savannah, not tied to our desks for 8 hours a day wired into tech.‍ Lots of the businesses we meet make the mistake of trying to fit in with business rather than making it fit them, and the cracks are there for all to see. One way we have found to make sure that business fits us, is to put people and the planet first, by becoming a B-Corp.
